Louise from Viking Penguin notes that KOMO’s Northwest Afternoon (Seattle) is wrapping up after 24 years.  They will have new content through the end of August, after which they will be replaced with a syndicated talk show.

In other moves, Ben from Viking Penguin notes that Sally Williams has left the Star Tribune as books editor.  Judy Arginteanu is the Interim Books Editor.

The Happy Booker reports that Olsson’s Penn Quarter store will be closing Friday, June 27.

More on the Twitter front — GalleyCat reports on the efforts of Soft Skull, Bantam Dell, Canongate, Yale University Press and Oxford University Press.  Someone asked me yesterday what I think about Twitter.  I said I like the concept but I barely have the time to check email let alone constantly post on a microblogging site!  It is tough, logistically — one person can’t possibly post updates for an entire company, yet marshalling dozens of editors and publicists to blog (when, let’s face it, many don’t even know what Twitter is) is pretty darn difficult.  Anyone want to weigh in?
