How to use LinkedIn effectively
Authors are more likely to use Facebook or MySpace rather than LinkedIn for promotional purposes (the two former networking sites are more “fun,” the latter more professional), but since we hear LinkedIn mentioned a lot — and a lot of us have LinkedIn profiles — I thought you might be interested in Chris Brogan’s post about using LinkedIn. He talks about how to get recommendations and who to connect to, among other issues.
Hi Yen. You and your readers might like to know that two AMACOM authors are teaching “How to Succeed in Publishing Using LinkedIn,” at BEA on Thursday, May 29th, 1-2 pm, LA Convention Center (Room 404B). They’re book, How to Succeed in Business Using LinkedIn, is pubbing in September. No preregistration is necessary, so you can just pop in if you’re at the convention center. Full disclosure, I work at AMACOM.
Thanks for that link, Yen. Very interesting. I know of some authors who are using LinkedIn to help promote their books by answering questions posted by others.
